dated for 1863, with 36 1/2in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, 'W.D.' and ordnance markings to breech and receiver, flip-open breech-block, borderline engraved Tower lock with date and crown device, chequered walnut full-stock with brass furniture, the chequering continuing to the tip of the top-tang at wrist and the underside of fore-end to the finial, Turner roundel mark to butt, jag-ended iron ramrod and swivels for sling, strong amount of finish remaining
